AEPEA meets the Kenyatta University’s Engineering Students Association

The Association of Energy Professionals Eastern Africa (AEPEA) was invited to the first Kenyatta University’s Engineers Student Association (ESA) meeting on Thursday 30th March, 2017.

Harness Mukhongo, the Head of Operations and Ignatius Maranga, the Student Representative represented AEPEA at the event. Harness was the event’s Guest Speaker.

The event was attended by 30 students, all from different engineering fields. Ignatius Maranga gave a talk on the importance of joining professional bodies as a student. He also highlighted the benefits of joining AEPEA as a student member and encouraged the students to join the Association.

As the event’s Guest Speaker, Harness gave a talk on the life of an engineer and also mentioned the traits that should be employed when one is working in the engineering field. Some of these traits include discipline and continuous professional development. In regards to continuous professional development, he mentioned the certifications offered by AEE, which serve as professional development courses.

He also encouraged the students to join AEPEA.
